OAKWOOD FILM ACADEMY – HERITAGE OPEN DAYS 2026

Saturday 19 September • 2 PM – 3 PM
Come along to a free screening of three short films produced by Oakwood File Academy, brought to you with support from The Friends of Roundhay Park.
This event, for Heritage Open Days 2026, has been organised by Oakwood Film Academy in co-operation with The Friends of Roundhay Park.
There will be an opportunity for Q&A with the film makers and the whole event is expected to last about an hour. This is a co-operation between local film-makers, Heritage Open Days and The Friends of Roundhay Park.
The Oakwood Film Academy is a non-profit making group which meets at Oakwood Parochial Hall on Thursday evenings with a view to creating short films about local activities and stories. More about the films:

Pollution in the park
This documentary tracks the progress of a citizen science project that was set up to measure the pollution in water at Roundhay Park.

Ghost in the Library
A supernatural mystery, period costume drama follows Arthur Conan Doyle investigating a haunting in a historic Leeds library.

The Man at the Clock – Drama
For years a harmless, lonely old man has passed everyday sitting under the local clock tower – until a teenage school-girl appears and disrupts his peaceful day. Stereotypical behaviours trigger instant judgements and mutual dislike but they soon learn a lot more about each other when they both realise they need help.
