New Rain Forest Area at Tropical World Opens

Opened by Councillor Lucinda Yeadon yesterday the 9th February, the revamped creature corner and waterfall areas have had a major makeover and include a number of new residents.  These include Madagascar giant day geckos, vampire crabs, tomato frogs, red tail catfish and a dwarf caiman crocodile.

One of the new attractions which is sure to be a favourite is the leaf cutter ants nest where the ants will climb across a series of ropes outside the nest to reach the leaves to be cut and carried back to the nest, and a new hollow tree feature that children can climb inside and look out pretending to be an animal.
