FoRP working party
April 13 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Planting daffodil bulbs assisted by school children
Twice every month, usually the 2nd Saturday and the 4th Thursday, a number of FoRP members get together to carry out various tasks in the park, to enhance its appearance, and improve the visitor experience.
Typical tasks include bulb planting, ground preparation and wild flower seed planting, clearing footpaths, cutting back overhanging branches, removing Himalayan Balsam, removing brambles, etc.
Everyone is welcome to join us and help, including well behaved children and well behaved dogs. We provide all necessary tools together with gloves and a Hi Vis vest.
We normally meet at 10am at the Carriage House (behind the Roundhay Fox pub) on Mansion Lane, where the tools are stored.
If you have any questions, want to know what work is planned, or confirm the meeting place, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
We need to prepare the wild flower garden for the summer. I would like to dig out some of the biggest tufts of grass, this may stimulate seed germination. we could also strim and mow parts of it.
The weather is predicted to be dry but cold.
If numbers permit, the fernery could get a freshen up before we get together for coffee.
