Children’s Interactive Garden Now Open

On Sunday 4th July groups of children from the Little Friends of Roundhay Park planted herbs in the raised beds in the garden, completing the final stage of the new garden
The interactive garden provides a fun and relaxed space in which children and adults visiting the park will be able to enjoy and to encourage natural play and a sense of discovery.
The Parks team identified a suitable area that was prone to shade and difficult to plant and would be best suited to paths, tactile planting and willow trails. The Little Friends team worked with Kingdom Gardens, a local garden landscaping company, to design the L-shape piece of land into an attractive area for children and adults.
The area encompasses various different zones in which learning and nature can be freely explored, planted with colourful and tactile planting; with plenty to see and smell, as well as encouraging wildlife.
