Working to improve the path around Waterloo Lake
Twice every month, usually the 2nd Saturday and the 4th Thursday, a number of FoRP members get together to carry out various tasks in the park, to enhance its appearance, and improve the visitor experience.
Typical tasks include bulb planting, ground preparation and wild flower seed planting, clearing footpaths, cutting back overhanging branches, removing Himalayan Balsam, removing brambles, etc.
Everyone is welcome to join us and help, including well behaved children and well behaved dogs. We provide all necessary tools together with gloves and a Hi Vis vest.
We normally meet at 10am at the Carriage House (behind the Roundhay Fox pub) on Mansion Lane, where the tools are stored.
If you have any questions, want to know what work is planned, or confirm the meeting place, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
It will be more mud shifting on Saturday, it is that time of year. There is further work to do beyond the sham castle to make life easier for the public. The grids at the end of Ram Beck are extremely clogged with branches and leaves. If some of you could bring wellies, that would be useful. We will also check on the smowdrop garden and we could put a log edging to it if we have time. There are some perfect logs in Ram wood, but that is quite a long way to move them.
