More Exciting News!

The playground is now shut for the transformation to begin.  Demolition of the old playground takes place between 5 – 9th November, with the new equipment build beginning on Monday 12th November.   Keep up to date with progress on our facebook page!

We have smashed our target for the new Lakeside playground – just 5 months after our fundraising campaign was officially launched.

We’re pleased to announce that following our success in a match-funding competition, Kompan, a playground supplier, is adding £50,000 to our fundraising pot, taking our final total to £159,865. This means we can upgrade the original £100,000 draft design and fully make our ideas for a fantastic, new, local and accessible playground, a reality.

Our campaign officially launched just 5 months ago, and we would like to say a huge thank you to all our sponsors, local businesses and individuals who’ve come together to support this local appeal. These include all our badge purchasers, Veolia Environmental Trust, Friends of Roundhay Park, the Roundhay Councillors Jacob Goddard, Eleanor Tunnicliffe and Angela Wenham, People’s Postcode Trust, Wades Trust, St James Place Foundation, Mr Whippy, Oakwood Solicitors, Adair Paxton, Foot-tech Academy, Scott Pullen and Son Fairgrounds, Lakeside Cafe, Manning Stainton, Winston Solicitors, Roundhay Rotary and OneMedical Group.

We are now able to move the project forward much faster than we originally anticipated, we are hoping to have the new playground installed by Christmas – an amazing early present for Roundhay Park.
